4. Snake – Alertness
A snake is the symbol of alertness and quickness. Lord Shiva is he embodiment of alertness and very conscious about the proceedings of this world. Snakes are hung around his neck to represent serpent power or Kundalini Shakti. As a yogi Lord Shiva attained the highest stages in Kundalini Sadhana.
