2. Why feathers of peacocks?
Once Lord Krishna went into the woods and found the climate very joyous and exulted. He began to play his flute and got imbibed in it as time passed on. Nature revealed its colors happy with the music of Lord Krishna. Some peacocks came there and stood still enthralled by the music of Lord Krishna. Krishna started to dance along with music. All the peacocks learned dancing, looking at the movements of the soft feet of Lord Krishna. After he stopped playing flute, all the peacocks went to Krishna and told him that they learned to dance from him and he was their Guru. Peacocks gave their colorful feathers to Lord Krishna as Guru Dakshina. Lord Krishna received their lovely gifts and wore them on his head.
