Who is Gautamiputra Satakarni?

Then at the starting of the 2nd century the saviour of Satavahana Dynasty raised to power and took the reigns. He is none other than Gautamiputra Satakarni.

He first increased the size of his army and ran expeditions on the Sakas and Pallavas. He drove them out and concentrated on Yavanas.

He won them too and had his victories inscribed. Gauthamiputra Satakarni was so imbibed with the orthodoxy of Brahmanism and banished inter caste marriages between four varnas. But he was a kind king and looked after his people without any miseries. He took care of the farmers and encouraged agriculture on large scale.

He was very compassionate and helped the needy irrespective of caste, creed, region and timing. His rule was described as the golden era of Satavahana Dynasty.

Now this great heroic story of a warrior is going to set the silver screens on fire. The legend Balakrishna is going to play the lead role in the film.
