Once upon a time, a teacher’s wife and the disciple’s wife observed the Pandu thamboolam nomu. The disciple’s wife gave the thambuloom to a sumangali woman on that day and took her blessings while the teacher’s wife is arrogant and neglected the Vrat. So, the disciple’s wife is blessed with a lot of money and wealth. But, the teacher’s wife experienced misery and poverty. One day when she was wandering in the forest in a clueless stare, Lord shiva Parvati appeared and found out the reason for her misery. After listening to her, goddess Parvati explained to her the way she broke the ritual and that it led to such consequences.
So, the goddess suggested she observe the nomu once again with utmost devotion to become wealthy and happy. So, the teacher’s wife came home and observed the Vrat for 1 year and received precious fortunes.
Vrat Vidhan: The devotees should wash the hair of a sumangali woman, then cook pastry dishes(pindi vantalu) and meals to her. Later, offer a saree, blouse piece, and dakshina thamboolam as Vayanam to complete the nomu.
