2. Story Behind the Manifestation of Maa Bagalamukhi
There occurred a great storm during Satyayuga, which Lord Vishnu was not able to control. Lord Vishnu, not knowing anything to do, approached Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva told Lord Vishnu that only Shakti will be able to stop that destructive storm. Then Lord Vishnu observed penance and Shakti appeared before him in the form of Goddess Bagalamukhi. Then Bagalamukhi stopped the storm to save the worlds. Vaisakha Sukla Ashtami is the day Maa Bagalamukhi set her foot on the earth. This is day has been celebrated as her jayanthi with all the fervour.
