A woman got frustrated after she was getting rejected by everyone for marriage. There is no result even after doing many Vrat donations and others rituals. So, one day she went to the Durga Devi temple located outside the village and locked herself inside the temple. She cried and banged her head at the feet of the goddess for giving her such miserable life. Immediately goddess Durga appeared and consoled her. The goddess told her that one will experience the result of deeds they commit. She also made the woman realize the way the woman separated a couple in her previous birth.
The goddess also told that a happy couple got separated because of her evil mind and she is being punished in this life. So, the goddess suggested she go home and give Pasupu(turmeric) thamboolam to a sumangali woman for 1 year, and before completing the Vrat, she is supposed to give 1 kg turmeric along with dakshina thamboolam as Vayanam. The woman did as suggested and she got married to a good man and lived happily.
