2. The story behind the Satavahana Kingdome
Sri Satakarni was trying to become the emperor of whole South India and unfortunately he was defeated by Kalinga Emperor Mahameghavahana Aira Kharavela.
After the death of Sri Satakarni the kingdom lost its sheen and needed a powerful king to look after it. As his sons were of minor age, Queen Nayanika managed the administration of the kingdom.
The Andhra Satavahana Kingdom was repeatedly faced invasions from Sakas and Pallavas. Ages passed but the kingdom endured all the invasions and survived though the size of territory reduced.
