2. Lepakshi – The abode of wonderful temples
Temples in Lepakshi were built by brothers Veeranna and Virupanna who were officers of Vijayanagara Empire. The temple was built in Dravidian style temple architecture. The main temple in Lepakshi is dedicated to Virabhadra Swami. The Statue of Nandi is one of the main specialties of Lepakshi temple town. It is said that the Nandi state has been growing constantly.
Another marvel of this temple is that a pillar hangs from the ceiling. The temple contains more than 70 pillars and this one pillar hangs from the roof with a difference of a few centimeters from the ground. We can see tourists passing towels and papers beneath the pillar.
